Russia Club Christmas Lunch

The message from the Russian Insurance Club Hon Secretary Vasilina Bindley:

"Dear Ladies and Gentlemen

A quick reminder for those of you who have got a place to come to our party this year.

This year our annual Russian Club party will be in the evening at the Oriental Club in Stratford Place, just off Bond St, on Friday, the 9th of January 2009.

It will start with a champagne reception at 18.15 and will be followed by a Russian themed dinner at 19.00.

You will remember this year we are having a WIG AND/OR HAT party. Any effort is welcome and there is a prize for the best WIG/HAT !

Irina and I will be doing 'face control' at the door and anyone without a wig or a hat will be asked for a charity contribution.

We have got a few valuable items for our charity auction. However, if anyone would like to offer for auction a pledge/promise (e.g. last time 3 hours of free legal advice were very popular as was Irina's promise to cook some borsch a couple of years ago) - would they please let me know in advance.

Best regards and warmest wishes of Happy Christmas and New Year.

Vasilina"

Who we are

The Russian Club also known as The Russian Insurance Club is a semi-formal network of business professionals. Established in 1995 in London by Risto Talas (at the time J.L.Jones & Ors, Box 093 Lloyd's) with active support of Tony Peck (then Regional Executive, Lloyd's of London) and participation of many Lloyd's syndicates and international insurance and reinsurance brokers The Russian Club has grown steadily over the past 10 years. It has about a hundred regular attendees - brokers, insurers, bankers, surveyors, lawyers, accountants, linguists and other business professionals, who in turn have access to a wealth of contacts in industries, professions and finance.

What we do

The core purpose of the Russian Club is to promote co-operation between the London insurance market and Russian and FSU insurance companies and other businesses. The Russian Club facilitates information exchange and assists with sharing contacts. In Russia the Russian Club is well regarded by the Russian Union of Insurers, the Russian Insurance Supervision (Rosstrakhnadzor) and some Russian MP’s (Duma members) involved with insurance issues.
