Charity

Russia Club extends gratitude to all its members who helped to raise funds for charity projects in the Former Soviet Block countries.

Belarussian Children’s Hospice - one of the charities supported by the Club - provides counselling, care training and material support to the families of dying children, and continues to work with parents after the death of the child. It trains medical personnel and psychologists in palliative care and psychological support. The hospice does not charge patients or their families for its services or for drugs and medicines.

In summer 2006 Russia Club members have supported James Sellars and Elizabeth Dixon who took part in London to Mongolia Sponsored Car Rally, raising funds for two charities - Friends of the Belarussian Children's Hospice (UK) and Christina Noble Children's Foundation.

James and Elizabeth travelled through 19 countries and raised about GBP3,000 for the two charities. Russia Club express gratitude to the corporate donors Mediterranean Average Adjusting Company, Oakeshott Insurance Brokers, Matthews Daniel and many private donors, members of the Club.
