Artist's comments:

Yin and Yang are believed to be two energies or forces that shape distinctive qualities of everything in the world. Yin and Yang co-exist in never ending conflict and ultimately become one another.

Cityscape of Canary Wharf, also known as Canary Wharf Landscape Redux Number 4
Awash with Dosh

Acrylic on canvas, 50 * 50 cm, 2006

# 3 Offers invited from CHF20,000

Artist's comments:

Cityscape of Canary Wharf, also known as Canary Wharf Landscape Redux Number 4 - the fifth remake of this remarkably pleasing image. The background colour has evolved as a result of a series of experiments with acrylic additives. The magic formulae has been eventually found and as a result the background has a mysterious diamond-like sparkling. Thus the nick name under which it was exhibited at the Lloyd's Art Group exhibition at the Lloyd's of London in 2006 is "Awash with Dosh".

The painting of Blue Monochrome, acrylic on canvas
Blue

Acrylic on canvas, 50 * 50 cm, 2006

# 4 Offers invited from CHF10,000

Artist's comments:

The application of a single color over an entire canvas, known as a Monochrome abstraction, has been used by several artists wishing to challenge expectations of what an image can and should represent. Yves Klein for instance referred to monochrome painting as an "open window to freedom" (See his “Blue Monochrome” at MoMA, NY). There might be some deep philosophy behind monochrome painting. Speaking for myself, I simply love the rich color blue with a bit of texture. It looks great.

Painting of Orange Monochrome, acrylic on canvas
Orange

Acrylic on canvas, 61 * 45.5 cm, 2006

# 5 Offers invited from CHF50,000

Artist's comments:

Like the painting of Blue (above), this painting of Orange is an accomplished monochrome art work in its own right. Its smooth skin-like texture nicely interacts with light. It is calm and settled.

Mark Rothko with his works No5/No22, "Red and Orange" and especially “Untitled” (1968) has experimented highly successfully with orange and red pallets. I adore his works, but at times find them just a bit too busy. Thus I’ve attempted to execute my Orange in a more minimalist manner.

Void Number 30 - the Artwork Of Nothing Made With Nothing Sold

No media whatsoever, 2007

# 8

Artist's comments:

My path to abstraction has culminated in an ultimate challenge of how to convey the notion of a true void - an absence of any quality. For that purpose no media tested by artists appeared to be good enough. I’ve chosen to dispose of the convention that an art work requires a media. But does an artwork that has never been and will never be produced exist? For an accountant one way to ascertain the existence of something is to check whether there is a market for it, and this is what I set to explore.

I’ve created a limited edition of 50 imaginary art works named Void Number 1 through Void Number 50 that do not have any physical representation and therefore do not exist in any shape or form, and offered them for sale.

As it happened, Void Number 30 was sold in June 2007 at a local art auction in London. One down, 49 to go ...

# 14 Offers invited from CHF5,000

Artist's comments:

Homage to Damien Hirst who was first to discover the beauty of circular spots of household paint on white canvas. The colours I've selected also fell within the scope of B&Q variety, but the order of appearance is different as it is predetermined by some earlier random events. Its mesmerising.
